All your juries are belong to us!
OK, I am not a big fan of Ockerland. My general opinion of Ocker government is if it does not move regulate it, if it does move regulate it until it stops moving.
Along this theme is of course the Ocker Judge that thinks that everything on the Internet related to an upcoming case should be deleted or blocked. The NBR has a good story on it.
The Judge thinks that any one presenting the pages should be held in contempt, no matter where they are located. Man, Google must be quaking in its boots.

.nz stats by year
The .nz stats by calendar year make interesting reading. I would not mind a growth rate of 22% in a business were just 2 years ago some people were claiming that it could be in decline!

2LD working group finally finished
The final report/changes of the 2LD Working Group were finally presented to NZOC and accepted by them. This was an interesting process which resulted in a 'better' process but based on the status quo approach. It has tried to fix many of the flaws of the old policy while keeping to the orginal intent from 1997.

.iwi moderation change
The NZOC meeting basicly killed the proposed changes to the moderation process for .iwi.nz 2LD. Looks like the outcome actually followed quite closely my submission on the issue about lack of support from the current registrants.
The NZOC has instructed the DNC to contact each existing registrant on the proposed changes and requires a 75% response rate with a 75% rate of agreement before the new moderation process we be supported.
Fat chance to get both.

NZOC minutes online
The minutes for the December NZOC meeting are online. I will comment on couple of the outcomes in seperate posts. I wonder who Lee Sycamore is as they were an observer at the meeting as well as a council meeting in October. Planning to run for council of InternetNZ?

IDG on growth in .nz
IDG has a short article on growth of .nz names over the last 12 months of 22%. This is great news as all the forecasts (which I was involved with) was based on 5% per annum.

Stuff on .nz disputes process
Stuff has a story on th e.nz dispute process. Some quotes from Peter Dengate-Thrush, Domainz and FreeParking. Normally a WG member does not speak their own views to the media. I wonder if the WG changed the normal agreement?
